Site sampling without slowing the works

Site sampling is where paper claims meet physical works. Done poorly, it disrupts trades; done well, it settles quantity disputes in a single visit.

Agree the sample before arrival

Share the floors or packages under review with the site team at least two days ahead. Escorts, induction, and PPE requirements should be confirmed in writing so the visit is not spent at the gate.

Measure the contested first

Start with bill items that show sudden jumps or thin measurement sheets. Leave routine packages for later if time is short. Night-work façades need a separate window — do not force them into a daytime walk.

Close the loop the same week

Site notes should map back to claim lines within days, not after the next certificate. That timing is built into our full construction cost audit sequence.
